NACHBAR

Short story: I was introduced to this bar by a friend. If you're a smoker and looking for a place where you can smoke, drink and listen to great music - this is place for you. Otherwise, turn around and leave.

Long story: Well, I used to go here pretty often, but this is only because I was friends with owner and his friends. They're very nice and positive people, who bring good mood on the table.

But I am here to tell you about the bar and not about nice people. First of all, if you're fond of great spirits and perfectly served Margarita, it's not the place for you. Don't get me wrong, they do serve good cocktails, but no for those who know about mixology. Nachbar serves lots of good classic Mojitos or for example Strawberry Natasha (it's like a strawberry smoothy with vodka). It's a good place to have a girls night and meet guys.

It's a smoking place, which is almost unacceptable for me. I don't mind people smoking, but when then smoke is the only air inside and all your hair and clothes including underwear smells like cigarettes... Sorry.

Location is a little bit tide. It's long and full, when it's Friday or Saturday night. Bar keep your mood up with a great music while you're waiting for somebody to come to your table. I have nothing against barmen working there - some of them are really good. Some of them are, however, slow and spending more time chitchatting with friends than actually doing their job.

Resume: some of my friends do like this place, so I come here now and then. Though, still, if you have a different choice like "Green Door" around the corner or "Hudson Bar"...

Horrible place to go. We went there on a Saturday night and waited for 10 minutes for somebody to hand us a menu, 15 minutes until somebody took our order. The drinks came surprisingly fast but where watered down. There were about 5 waiters to serve about 10 people. After finishing our drinks, we had to tell 3 waiters that we wanted to pay our tab. After 20 minutes we stood up and somebody finally came to us and asked us to pay. After telling him that we have been waiting for 20 minutes and waiting for the waiters sitting around chitchatting and smoking cigarettes, he told us Welcome to Germany.
This was a horrible impression of Berlin, which lacks service but rarely hospitality. There is atleast five bars within the vicitnity of Nachbar, I'll recommend going to Green Door around the corner, which has tremendously better service and drinks.

the drinks kept on coming and our bartender was AMAZING... we just chanced upon this place and it was one of those perfect chances.
in the daylight however this is nothing special... i guess it's what you do that is important not where you do it : )
